ITINERARY

Day 1Hanoi - Cat Ba - CRUISE and NIGHT on board

Cast off into Lan Ha Bay: the less travelled, but still astoundingly beautiful southern portion of Ha Long Bay. Explore the bay on a traditional Vietnamese junk boat through a maze of karst towers.

  • Admire the fascinating formations of the bay through a maze of karst towers
  • Kayak around Dark and Bright cave area which is located in the most beautiful lagoon of the Bay
  • Relish the taste of skillfully prepared local seafood.
  • Settle into your cabin while the boat anchors for a night’s rest.

Day 2 Cat Ba - CRUISE - Hai Phong - FLY (Jetstar) - Dong Hoi

For the last day in the bay, you will experience a second to none activities

  • Enjoy a breakfast with an astonishingly enchanting view under the morning sun.
  • Get up close to a small beautiful lagoon dotted with some floating houses, learn their daily life and fishing culture. With local fishermen instructions, you will experience net fish catching.
  • Swim and dive into the refreshing bay
  • Appreciate local food made with local ingredients for Lunch
  • Return to the port early in the afternoon to travel back to Hanoi

    Settle into an evening flight from Hai Phong to Dong Hoi. Once arrived, you will be welcomed by our guide and be transferred to your arranged accommodation in Phong Nha

Day 3Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park - Caving

wander around Phong Nha National Park – UNESCO World Heritage sites for a visit to the 2 most renowned caves:

  • Immerse yourself in the grottoes and subterranean river system of Phong Nha water cave and Paradise Cave.
  • Get ready for the stunning limestone formations nestled in the heart of this magnificent cavern.

Day 4Phong Nha - Ho Chi Minh trail biking (Moderate level)

Get on your bike to venture through a part of the original Ho Chi Minh trail:

  • Cycle along the river and through the fields of corn, rice and peanut; and floating fishing farm.
  • Interact with the local families, learn more about their lifestyle, and the agriculture, how the rice is grown and how the villagers feed their fish in the river.
  • Stop at Ho Khanh’s house to learn about the caving passion of the King of the Cave Kingdom. Ho Khanh is the local jungle man who first found Hang Son Doong – the World’s Largest Cave in 1990. He is working as the porter leader for the trip to Hang Son Doong. With luck, you will get a picture with this renown man.
  • Pedal through villages to reach the Ho Chi Minh original trail, which was made to facilitate the movement of soldiers and war supplies from North Vietnam to battlefields in South Vietnam. There is not only one but 2 Ho Chi Minh trails. You will get all the information from the guide.
  • Get some refreshment in Mooc Spring Eco-trail with a picnic BBQ lunch.
  • Keep cycling under the shades of the limestone to reach the Wine Cave – where the V.C made rice wine while they were hiding from the U.S aircraft bombings. The cave remains a symbol of peace..
    Overnight in Phong Nha

Day 5Phong Nha - Vinh Moc tunnels - DMZ - Hue

After breakfast, start your journey to Dong Hoi along  the sea on Cua Tung Beach, take a coffee break and inhale the refreshing sea breeze.

  • Reach Vinh Moc tunnel and witness the refuge area of some 400 North Vietnamese refugees during the “Rolling Thunder” bombing operation (which lasted more than 2000 days). You will learn more about the Vietnam War and how the people lived during those hard days.
  • Drive back to Dong Ha for a lunch break.
  • Continue north to the old DMZ, the old de-facto border between North and South Vietnam for 18 years, take a walk on the Freedom
  • Bridge crossing the Ben Hai River, which was the only true physical demarcation line between the two Vietnams
    Drive back to Hue.

Day 6Hue - Highlights

Discover Vietnam’s former capital, built by the Nguyen Dynasty: As the cultural and geographical center of Vietnam, Hue has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its ancient relics, historical monuments, and fine continuation of Imperial traditions.

  • Stroll through the Imperial Citadel and daydream about its former dynasty.
  • Visit Thanh Tien village – a village that has been crafting delicate paper flowers for over 400 years.
  • Experience a village which specialises in incense-making, and a true icon of Vietnam – conical hats!
  • Bewitched by the mausoleum of Khai Dinh, the final emperor’s bedazzling eternal resting place.
  • Admire the elegant garden-style homes at An Hien.

 

Day 7Hue - Bach Ma

Leave Hue to plunge into the wilderness of Bach Ma National Park which has atmospheric jungle and interesting flora and fauna but also spectacular views over the beautiful coastal beaches and lagoons.

  • Discover the ecological system of the National Park at Bach Ma’s Information Center
  • Drive up the mountain road to check-in at a villa on top of the park
  • Walk up to Bach Ma summit at the height of 1.450m above sea level to admire the spectacular sunset and the panorama view of the coast including Tam Giang Lagoon and Lang Co beach.
  • Explore a tunnel which was constructed during the Vietnam War in which the VC used to hide in order to attack the US helicopter on the peak of Bach Ma
  • Join the campfire (if weather permits) and be enchanted by the sounds of Mother Nature
    Overnight in Bach Ma.

Day 8Bach Ma - Hoian

Start another delightful day by getting lost in the jungle

  • Trek along the trails to Ngu Ho (Five Lakes), relax and swim in a natural “infinity pool”
  • Immerse in nature then keep trekking through the jungle to Do Quyen – Rhododendron waterfalls (at a height of 300m)
  • Immerse into nature while heading to Hoian.

THE CULTURAL SIEM REAP – ANGKOR WAT 4 days/3 nights

Be enchanted by the awesome Temples of Angkor and the history of Khmer Kings discovered at the magnificent UNESCO Heritage site.

Day 1 – SAIGON – FLY – SIEM REAP   Settle into a flight from Saigon to Siem Reap. Arrive and be welcomed by our guide and be transferred to your arranged accommodation. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 2 – SIEM REAP – ANGKOR THOM – TA PHROM – ANGKOR WAT   Arriving in Angkor Wat, you will rove among the ruins of the world’s most famous Hindu temple complexes, built for gods, and fit for kings: Baphuon (a temple in honour of another Hindu deity, Shiva) with its spectacular layered structure, the Terrace of the Leper King with its beautiful carvings of gods, nagas, and dancers; the Royal Enclosure and its small and particularly significant temple, Phimeanakas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

 

Day 3 – SIEM REAP – BANTEAY SREI – BANTEAY SAMRE Advance to an off-the-beaten-track site, an hour away from Angkor Wat, encountering stunning Cambodian countryside and uncovering more temples: visit Banteay Srei, called the citadel of women and come face to face with the meticulously restored enclosed temple of Banteay Samre, complete with carvings of lions and nagas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 4 – SIEM REAP – TONLE SAP – Departure Travel to Tonle Sap and find yourself surrounded by a completely aquatic landscape, see how everyday life is transformed by its proximity to and dependence on water. Free time until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight

En route, visiting min0rity villages such as H’mong village of Ban Thinkeo, Khmu village of Ban Thapaene and weaving village of Ban Xang Khong where traditional product also called Saa paper made from mulberry leaves.  Get to the waterfall, nestled in the lush tropical vegetation, a beautiful clear pool for swimming. Back to Luang Prabang for your departure flight.
